Register for GCP.Network

If you are a mental health or primary care professional, have completed your training, and are qualified to practice in your country, you are eligible to register to be part of the Global Clinical Practice Network (GCP.Network). As a GCP.Network member, you will be part of a global community of over 12,600 health professionals from over 150 countries contributing your expertise and experience with the aim of enhancing mental health worldwide.

GCP.Network members are currently working with the WHO Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse to assess and maximize the clinical utility and global applicability of the proposed diagnostic guidelines for mental and behavioural disorders for the next version of WHO’s International Classifications of Diseases (Eleventh Revision; ICD-11). WHO’s 194 member nations use the ICD as a framework for the collection and reporting of health information. When published, the ICD-11 will be used by diverse stakeholders for a multitude of important clinical, scientific, public health, and policy purposes that will affect mental health care worldwide. As such, the role of GCP.Network members in evaluating and enhancing the proposed ICD-11 guidelines is crucial.

As a GCP.Network member, you will be asked to review materials, provide feedback, and participate in global case-controlled field studies of the proposed ICD-11 guidelines. The studies in which you are invited to participate will be based on your own professional interests, activities, and expertise. You will be asked to participate in such activities no more than once per month, and each study will require approximately 30 minutes of your time. You will never be asked to provide identifying information about your patients.

The information you provide as a GCP.Network member will directly influence WHO’s decisions about the structure and content of the new classification system, which in turn affect the activities of health professionals worldwide. Thus, as a GCP.Network member, you have the potential to directly contribute to enhancing the detection and treatment of mental and behavioural disorders around the world.

Moreover, as a GCP.Network member, you will have privileged access to:

  • Information related to the ICD-11 development process (e.g., early access to study findings and their implications for your clinical practice);
  • Early access and opportunity to comment on the new ICD-11 draft guidelines;
  • Publications, tools, and resources that will help you to better diagnose and manage your patients (e.g., current scientific articles, educational materials, WHO manuals and toolkits);
  • Opportunities for training and professional development;
  • Networking with other GCP.Network members.

GCP.Network registration can be completed in any one of 9 languages, and will take approximately 10 minutes of your time. To learn more, and to register, please click on the button below.
